Caregiver/Activities Assistant – Acacia Health Center – FT Days Mon - Fri

Starting Pay: $18.00-$21.50 Depending on Certification Date

Schedule: Monday - Friday / 8AM-5:00PM

Location: Assisted Living and Memory care – Acacia Health Center

Vaccination: FLU Vaccination Required

Our Sagewood and Acacia Health Center is recruiting for Caregiver/Activities Assistant. In this role you will be responsible assisting and coordinating meaningful activities appropriate to the needs and interests of residents and conducive to their physical, mental and social well-being.

Who are you: 

  • Assist the Director of Life Enrichment and Activities Coordinator with planning, scheduling, set up/tear down events, and coordinating all resident activities including special events following the Life Enrichment programs (Lifestyles and Health Services, Embrace the World, Ambassador, and Heartfelt Connections Memory Care Program) on a monthly basis. 
  • Promote a healthy community culture for all residents and employees. 
  • Provide individual and group educational opportunities for residents and staff in the area of disease prevention and management in the holistic spirit of the Lifestyle and Health Services Wellness Program.
  • Lead daily resident activities per our Community standards.
  • Provide hands-on care as a Caregiver with assisting with ADLs and activities. Administer medications, transports/transfers/escorts residents to activities. 

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

  • Current Arizona Caregiver Certificate required.
  • Must hold a valid CPR Certification, BLS, First Aid Certification and be trained in AED procedures
  • Med Tech Certification preferred, must obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English with residents, and have adequate reading skills to understand resident care plans and other applicable documentation
  • Education or experience with recreational activities, event planning or related preferred.
  • Physical fitness, ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands.
  • Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds.
