ABOUT THE ROLE

The Patient Services Manager (PSM) is responsible for leading and monitoring the patient intake and scheduling operations of their assigned location(s) in accordance with the business’ key initiatives and growth. Through keen observation of key performance indicators and associated metrics, the Patient Services Manager will drive strategy and efficiency to meet the department’s goals in relation to all intake and scheduling functions of patients.

*The schedule will be M-F, 8 am - 5 pm. May require flex schedule for coverage as needed*

*This position will be office based at 3030 N. Central Ave. Suite 1200 Phoenix, AZ. 85012*

MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise assigned staff and oversee the intake and scheduling functions of the Patient Services Department
  • Perform daily prioritization of intake and scheduling.
  • Actively participate in intake and scheduling workflow and tasks; providing coverage for Patient Services Coordinators
    as needed.
  • Ensure patients are promptly processed and scheduled, and field staff have appropriate caseloads each day; resolving issues and complaints as they occur, managing schedule disruptions, and escalating to senior leadership as needed
  • Answer inquiries from patient, patient’s family, and facilities, respecting the patient’s dignity and confidentiality
  • Provide metrics reporting

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Five (5) years of healthcare experience in a hospital, medical outpatient clinic, home health, hospice, or specialty care setting.
  • Two (2) years of clinical intake and scheduling experience.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Skills/Ability/Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of insurance plans, medical terminology, and medical office software.
  • Excellent customer service, patient advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, be flexible and detail oriented.
