Position Summary The Transportation Program Manager is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day program operations meet and where possible exceed the performance standards set for the targeted population being served. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring safe and reliable transportation services including, but not limited to coordination of scheduling, route identification, and the management of drivers and volunteers. In this role the Transportation Program manager is responsible for day-to-day planning, implementing, and reporting as it relates to transportation services. The Program Manager will provide transportation support for all FSL programs, ensuring consistency in methods and approach. The Transportation Program Manager demonstrates knowledge and understanding of current best practices in transportation services. This position has 4-7 Direct Reports Essential Functions: % of TimeProgram Operations Manages program operations for assigned FSL programsParticipates in meetings among FSL, communities, and/or municipalities to achieve program goals, and actively contribute to problem solving with all partners Demonstrates an understanding of transportation processes Identifies and obtains copies of all data necessary to manage data requested by partners Collaborate with the development of materials that integrate FSL transportation services into a seamless package that can be promoted to attract external partners Collects and analyzes data in order to provide guidance and input on current processes, opportunities for process improvement, and for monthly reporting requirements Maintains databases on transportation services provided and makes accurate and timely documentation Answers questions from riders and community members about transportation services Creates forms required in the implementation of the program Adheres to organizational policies and procedures for FSL and other regulatory bodies Uses safe work practices including promptly reporting workplace and client safety issues 35%Supervision and Direction Participates in the hiring, disciplinary and termination processes for direct reports Participates in the orientation of new personnel/volunteers and promotes collaborative teamwork Provides supervision, guidance, and resources for staff Reviews weekly program outcomes related to both staff and clients Participates in and/or facilitates transportation meetings for staff Models and maintains appropriate professional boundaries 30%Continuous Improvement & Quality Facilitates and/or participates in policy review and revisions Maintains a working knowledge of, and adheres to applicable federal / state regulations Works on continuous program improvement, promoting quality, efficiency and effectiveness related to process, procedures, and outcomes supported by data Works in collaboration with leadership to develop guidelines for the program and identifies future opportunities 30%Miscellaneous Other duties as assigned 5% Requirements: Education & Experience, Knowledge/UnderstandingMinimum Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience employed in roles that directly relate to transportation servicesOne to three years of experience, preferably in transportationAbility to effectively communicate A minimum of two years supervisory experience, preferably in transportation At least one year of professional experience working with elderly persons or demonstrated knowledge of such Possess a valid Arizona driver’s license and insurance Must not have any restrictions for physical work for which reasonable accommodation cannot be made Preferred: Have a Bachelor’s degree Have prior experience providing transportation services Skills:Interacts in a professional, respectful, positive, helpful manner, which promotes trust Establishes effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Excellent verbal, written, reading, and listening communication skills to include communicating clearly, effectively, tactfully, and patiently to a diverse population.
