ABOUT THE ROLE

The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of their assigned program(s) including growth and financial performance. The ED, in collaboration with the Area Vice President of Operations (AVP), and other leadership, will establish, implement, and evaluate goals and objectives for hospice services that meet/exceed established budget goals, promote the standards of quality, and contribute to the total organization and philosophy. They will ensure the employment of qualified hospice personnel, the provision of hospice services, the delegation and/or the coordination/completion of hospice personnel evaluations, and the standards of care that comply with federal and state regulations.

  • This position is 8 am-5pm Monday - Friday

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree in healthcare administration, or related field, or the equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of experience in an operational leadership role within home health or hospice.
  • Must have reliable transportation, proof of current automobile insurance, and a valid driver’s license.
  • Possess a professional and resourceful style; having the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative, and to manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time.
  • Knowledge of hospice regulations and Medicare conditions of participation.
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills are required.
  • Basic computer skills: understanding the basic notions of computer manipulation, managing computer files, word processing, using spreadsheets and databases; creating presentations; finding information and communicating using email; and being aware of social and ethical implications of Internet use.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas utilizing the spoken word.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, negotiation, and public relations skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
