Sacramento Heart & Vascular Medical Associates is an established cardiology clinic with a mission focused on offering excellent patient care. Our busy cardiology office located in Sacramento, CA is seeking a qualified full-time Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to join our team of professionals.

The Cardiology Nurse Practitioner provides specialized assessment, physical evaluation, and clinical management of specific patients in collaboration with the physician. The NP follows established standards, procedures, protocols, and practices along with giving specific patient management directions to nursing and other staff. Formal proof of Covid-19 vaccination and booster is required.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Provides services to patients in a timely manner including but not limited to taking health histories, performing assessments, coordinating patient care conferences, implementing nursing interventions, and conducting health education and counseling.
• Assesses and manages patients with routine, minor, and acute illnesses; performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status.
• Develops plans of care based on patient assessment ensuring appropriate follow-up in accordance with established policies, procedures, and hospital guidelines. All procedures will be performed under standardized procedures after being proctored by the supervising/sponsoring physician.
• Utilizes written guidelines/protocol for clinical decision making and management.
• Utilizes application of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in formulating nursing diagnoses and interventions.
• Demonstrates an awareness of and sensitivity to patient/family rights.
• Applies safety principles as identified by established policy.
• Participates in continuing education to continually improve skills and abilities and stay abreast of current technologies/practices.
• Exhibits a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Minimum requirements will include:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• At least 2 years of prior experience, cardiac experience preferred.
• Current Nurse Practitioner license in the State of California
• Current CPR certification
• ACLS certification highly desirable
• California Board of Nursing furnishing number desirable.

• Understand and respond to a diverse population
• Utilize visual, auditory, verbal, and olfactory processes required to assess, monitor, and care for patients.
• Sit for long periods of ti.me while using computer and telephone.
• Work Environment:
• Frequent exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
• Works in both an office setting and in exam rooms where temperatures are comfortable and noise levels are moderate.
