the largest US manufacturer of roller coasters and thrill rides, is seeking a full-time Blast / Prep Laborer to provide support to the Paint Department.
Blast / Prep Laborer
Job Summary
The Blast / Prep Laborer will work in the blast bay, shot / sand blasting metal fabricated parts and components used for S&S Worldwide Inc.
In addition, the Blast / Prep Laborer will mask / unmask parts and load / unload paint racks. Efficiently and safely use a forklift and overhead crane, multiple times / day.
The position also requires good attention to detail and a proven record of excellent attendance and work performance.
Responsibilities
- Works in a blast booth environment wearing proper safety equipment
- Sets up, operates, and cleans shot / sand blasting equipment, loads machine hopper with abrasives such as shot or sand
- Apply masking materials to protect designated areas from abrasive action
- Apply masking materials to protect areas from being painted
- Cleans the blasted material of any extra grit after completion of blasting surface
- Safely and efficiently use a forklift and overhead crane (S&S will provide training and certification for both)
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Follow all safety requirements for the site and area of operation
- Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, stand, and lift up to 75 lbs.
- Good vision and hand-eye coordination
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Successfully pass forklift and overhead crane training and certification
- Show up to work every day, on time, and work the entire shift
