HR Generalist

Ryan Gootee General Contractors is seeking a construction HR/AP/AR coordinator for their office in Metairie, Louisiana. The ideal candidate will work with our Controller to ensure accuracy of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and timely and accurate submission of reimbursements to trade partners.  HR functions include weekly employee payroll, 401k submissions, annual benefit reviews and open enrollments. Candidate must be a strategic thinker with superior organization skills and attention to detail who thrives in a team and family cultured environment with highly motivated professionals.

Key Role Responsibilities

• Answer all trade partner inquiries and accounts as it relates to AP/AR
• Review coding and process accounts payables and receivables
• Track various invoices and applications for payment
• Monitor trade partner compliance paperwork, including filing and verifying all vendors are in full compliance before releasing payments (Insurance, Master & Subcontracts and W9’s)
• Timely deposit and record all Owner payments
• Prepare Year-end 1099M Tax Forms
• Assure corporate income tax compliance by accurate and timely completion of all returns
• Provide support, information, and guidance to the Controller
• Assist the Controller in coordinating the annual audit
• Administer new hire contracts
• Onboard all employees; ordering office equipment, IT access, set up office space, and schedule benefits enrollment
• Field all internal and external HR/benefit related requests
• Act as the liaison between employees and insurance providers/brokers
• Payroll administration (weekly)
• Maintain and update employee records
• Assist with recruiting, identifying, and hiring new talent

Required Skills/Traits

• Bachelor Degree
• 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction
• Experience with budgeting and cost accounting
• Detail oriented and excellent organization and communication skills
• High ethical standards
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc. Sage Construction software exposure a plus
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and able to adapt to changing demands and priorities
• Maintain a positive attitude
