Ruppert Landscape Construction is Hiring a Construction Operations Manager Near Washington, DC

Ruppert is a commercial construction company combined as a privately and employee owned specialty contractor. A multi-state presence with a small company feel, our mission is to provide opportunities for our people, take care of our customers, and be good stewards of the environment and our community.
Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, and supervise Purchaser, Production Managers, and Project Managers
  • Ensure employee onboarding and employee evaluations are seamless and on time
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are disseminated and followed
  • Develop bench strength throughout the branch
  • Exceed each customer’s expectation for quality, workmanship, and service
  • Establish job cost goals and monitor performance
  • Allocate manpower and equipment resources to each Production or Project Manager
  • Maximize fleet usage and minimize rental equipment costs
  • Approve all subcontract agreements prior to commencing work
  • Build relationships with subcontractors and ensure that they are managed effectively
  • Provide feedback to the Estimators on the accuracy of direct cost estimates
  • Ensure that daily field reports are completed accurately
  • Review all customer bills with the Contract Administrator and assist with collections
  • Conduct weekly production meetings and address challenges

Qualifications:

  • 5- 7 years' experience in commercial construction required
  • Ability to analyze situations, consider options, and decide on actions quickly
  • Extensive knowledge of contracting, in general, and landscape installation OR Landscape Construction site work
  • Ability to establish productivity benchmarks and motivate employees to achieve goals
  • Ability to lead, develop and organize teams for professional success
  • Ability to interpret and utilize accounting and financial reports
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Background in Landscape Construction Management, Engineering or Business Management a plus
