Ruffalo Noel Levitz is Hiring a Remote Vice President Finance

The VP Finance manages the accounting department, providing primarily financial information about all company activities that will assist management, shareholders, and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company's future. They ensure that all accounting functions and financial records are completed accurately and in a timely manner.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (not limited to)

  • Oversee the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely creation and dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, monthly close process and related preparation of internal and external monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Oversee the activities of the Finance business systems ensuring systems integrity, uptime, data accuracy and business functionality
  • Oversee corporate treasury management including comprehensive weekly cash forecasting and reporting to senior management and lenders
  • Oversee all customer billings and collections to ensure the accurate and timely management of accounts receivable and cash receipts application
  • Oversee all disbursements ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee and contractor expense reports, payroll processing and corporate payroll tax compliance
  • Prepare and maintain all compliance reporting and inquiries with lenders
  • Oversee the completion of the annual financial audits as well as any tax audits for all federal, state and local jurisdictions
  • Assure corporate federal and state income and sales / use tax compliance is accurate and manage timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes
  • Respond to CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial reporting and analysis requirements
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports for Board of Directors, lenders and senior management
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Build and motivate teams around department and company goals
  • Provide effective follow up and follow through regarding individual and team performance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA certification
  • 10 years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Expert knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) and application thereof
  • Very strong ERP systems knowledge; Deltek VantagePoint experience a major plus
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications as well as competence in leveraging analytics software (e.g. PowerBI)
  • Knowledge of Adaptive Planning or other leading planning tools
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM as well as project management tools
  • Ability to reduce issues to core elements, and develop solutions using problem solving and analytical skills
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify and effectively communicate financial topics to non-financial people
  • Ability to identify performance improvement opportunities
  • Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Travel requirement negligible
  • Ability to maintain and work in a remote home office
  • Remote/virtual work environment must be free from distractions while performing the essential functions of the job and have a reliable network connection
  • Position predominantly includes sitting/standing for long periods of time, close vision through the use of a computer screen, extensive keyboarding, talking, hearing, and infrequent light physical effort is required (minimum of fifteen pounds)


Preferred:

  • Master’s and/or MBA
  • Accounting experience in the professional services or software industry
  • Prior experience working in a private equity-owned company
  • Experience with managing a highly leveraged capital structure and lenders
