The Opportunity

We are seeking a Construction Manager for our Transportation-Construction Management team in the Novi, MI area.

The Construction Manager will help manage and administer roadway and bridge transportation construction projects as well as the internal workings of a satellite office. Responsible for project management, contract administration, review and interpretation of plans, specifications, and other construction contract documents, monitor scope, schedule, and budgets, prepare and process work orders; mentor, supervise and assign work to subordinate staff members while enforcing the practices, methods, and procedures of a professional work environment.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 10 years of experience with major road or bridge construction inspection
• Knowledge of road and bridge construction management
• Knowledge of material testing procedures and testing equipment
• Ability to manage construction inspection teams and activities on a wide variety of roadway and bridge construction projects
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Valid Driver License and good driving record
• Must obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate qualifications tests for the position in specified time frames
• Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasks
• Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protection
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
• Project management experience preferred
• MDOT Certifications
• OSHA 10 hour
• Experience with MDOT contract specifications
