Job Description Summary: We are looking for a Trailer Mechanic to maintain the fleet of trailers. Critical Job Functions: Performing regular inspections and maintenance on all trailers, including brakes, suspension, tires, lights, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems on trailers and tractors Welding and fabrication work as needed to repair trailer bodies and frames. Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed, including parts and labor. Ordering and maintaining an inventory of necessary parts and supplies Operating various hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized machinery Keeping work area clean and organized to ensure safe and efficient work practices. Following all safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Participating in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry standards and technological advancements. Job Requirements: At least 1 year of experience as a diesel mechanic or trailer maintenance technician Strong knowledge of trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, tires, lights, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems Proficiency in diagnostic tools and techniques Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must possess the necessary tools to perform assigned tasks. High school or equivalent (Required) Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Required) Physical Demands and Work Environment: Physical Demands: Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job. Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise May be required to drive service van to off-site locations and perform work. Exposure to climate conditions of the geographic area Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases, paints or other irritants Hours may vary due to operational need.
