Position Overview

This position provides project management and technical leadership of complex environmental regulatory compliance projects and assists in the development of technical staff to meet client and organizational needs.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant technical field.
• Minimum of 20 years of environmental consulting or related experience in the environmental compliance field including air, water, and waste permitting and reporting.
• Strong background in organic and inorganic chemistry.
• Advanced data evaluation and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with the manufacturing industry, including heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Manage multi-faceted projects and remain within budget and schedule.
• Experience interacting with regulatory agencies.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to support the technical growth of project/staff level professionals.

 Essential Duties

• Project Management: 
  • Manage projects including key responsibilities for scheduling and coordination of project resources to meet client and organizational needs. 
  • Ensure that individual task schedules, budgets, and client invoicing are performed in accordance with Company standards and client requirements to complete project work.
• Technical Duties:
  • Prepare permit applications and complete reporting to ensure client compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
  • Provide technical assistance with chemistry, process, and emission control related projects.
• Proposal Preparation and Business Development:
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and with marketing activities.
  • Assist with proposals for new and repeat environmental compliance work.
• Staff Mentoring and Training:
  • Participate in the development of junior staff and work with senior management to continue to grow as a consultant and leader of the firm.

 Physical Demands/Work Environment Conditions

This position occasionally works in the field, and predominantly works in an office environment. In the field, the candidate will be primarily performing Site visits as necessary to meet with clients and perspective clients and observe various manufacturing, bulk storage and compliance practices firsthand. Office work is primarily stationary/sedentary using a computer and keyboard/mouse requiring repetitive hand movements.

Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000. This salary range is based on what Roux in good faith believes it might pay at the time of posting for this position and for this geographic location. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as relevant work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications, skill sets, and internal equity. In addition, this position is eligible for quarterly performance bonuses based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
