Position Overview

We are looking for individuals who can independently apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using their experience and judgment. Ability to plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate all technical work for small to major projects. Supervise and coordinate the engineering team and others who assist in specific tasks. Implementation of Quality Control on the engineering design projects. AutoCAD and Civil 3D mastery is required.

Position Requirements

  • B.S in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET Accredited Curriculum or equivalent required
  • Professional Civil Engineering license in the State of California
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D mastery required
  • 7 years of experience in civil engineering including site development, utility systems, and public works.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, County and City Standards in the Bay Area
  • Proficient in performing senior level interpretation work including remedial cost estimates, future remedial measures selection, and costing.
  • Experience performing conceptual and detailed remedial design work.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Advanced data evaluation and analytical skills.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience interacting with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability and willingness to support the technical growth of project/staff level professionals based on direct hands-on interactions.

Essential Duties

  • Perform Engineering Design and Construction Engineering Support:
  • Grading and drainage plans
  • Utility system designs for water and sewer
  • Preparation of specifications and cost estimates
  • Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), Field Modifications, Design Modifications, As-Builts
  • Preparation of Operation and Maintenance Plans 
  • Project Management
    • Manage projects including key responsibilities for scheduling and coordination of project resources to meet client and organizational needs. 
    • Ensure that individual task schedules, budgets, and client invoicing are performed in accordance with Company standards and client requirements to complete project work.
  • Technical Data Review and Report Preparation:
    • Coordinate and provide quality control for data collection and review of project results, including the reduction of field data to evaluate and determine future client needs and project requirements.
    • Interpret data, develop, and finalize a report for Project Principal’s review that appropriately documents findings and project remediation recommendations.
  • Proposal Preparation and Business Development:
    • Assist with the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and with marketing activities.
  • Staff Mentoring and Training:
    • Participate in the development of junior staff and work with senior management to continue to grow as a consultant and leader of the firm.

Physical Demands/Work Environment Conditions

This position occasionally works in the field, and predominantly works in an office environment. In the field, candidate will be working independently or more commonly will be leading a larger team at exterior project sites (i.e., industrial/brownfield facilities, monitoring wells, treatment systems, construction projects) to perform sample collection, recording of operational/meter parameters, and oversight of subcontractors (e.g., drillers, heavy equipment operators, truckers). These field activities require the ability to drive to different project sites and physically move around outdoors in various terrains, and occasionally in adverse weather conditions. Office work is primarily stationary/sedentary using a computer and keyboard/mouse requiring repetitive hand movements.

Base Salary Range: $105,000 - $150,000. This salary range is based on what Roux in good faith believes it might pay at the time of posting for this position and for this geographic location. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as relevant work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications, skill sets, and internal equity. In addition, this position is eligible for quarterly performance bonuses based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
