JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team. This position supports the Project Controller with a wide variety of functions which include project budgets, order release processing, with a primary focus on preparation of milestone billings and collection of receivables. As a team player you are a key resource to our internal and external customers. This challenging and fast paced position requires strong inter-personal and organizational skills, effective attention to detail skills, the ability to problem solve, juggle multiple projects and adjust work accordingly to adapt to tight deadlines. Experience supporting a global organization with multiple offices is helpful. This is an on-site position with a minimum of 40 hours each week.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manage all project billing functions related to all domestic and international customers including (but not limited to):
• Generate and send out invoices and account statements
• Carry out project billing, collection and reporting activities according to company policy and specific deadlines
• Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies
• Review AR aging to ensure compliance
• Maintain and monitor accounts receivable allowance account
• Maintain customer files and records
• Investigate and resolve customer queries
• Develop a recovery system and initiate collection efforts
• Assist with various reporting related to billing, collections and AR aging
• Prepare standard account reconciliations for AR and AR Allowance accounts
• Process review of contract billing terms for all released orders.
• Work with the project costing system to add project budget data and set project track codes
• Properly identify taxable sale transactions for assessing applicable tax (not limited to US sales tax)
• Assist with audits as needed
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in business or Accounting; or Associates Degree with a minimum of 5 years experience, or 8 more work experience

Additional Requirements

• The position will be based in either RMS’s Bethlehem, PA or Houston, TX office and is an on-site position. 
• This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. Additional hours, including evenings or weekends may be required based on departmental needs.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
• Ability to act professionally under stressful situations. 
• Able to understand, read, write and speak English.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team.

Work Environment

This position is based in an office setting. There may be times while performing the duties of this position, the employee may work / enter a shop environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts. While the work area may be described as generally clean, safe, and "not loud", there will be machining operations that generate moderate noise.
