Located in Leola, PA we are Dexco Racking, manufacturer of Dexco Structural Steel I-Beam Racking Systems. We are a well-established, successful, and growing metal fabrication company that has been in business since 1962. We engineer and manufacture structural steel racking systems to safely meet nearly any weight requirement. Our racks are ideal for storing industrial materials such as lumber, coils, dies, pipe tubing, bar stock, sheet metal and glass supporting loads ranging from 2,000 to 80,000 pounds. Our racks deliver well-engineered and reliable solutions for all varieties of industrial storage.

Currently, we are undergoing a major $3.7M plant overhaul with updated lighting; new equipment; new lunch room and completely renovated men's and women's locker room spaces. Our specialty is Dexco Structural Steel I-Beam Racking Systems, where we are an industry leader in design and manufacturing.

We are a fast-paced metal fabricating facility and are looking for an experienced Plant Manager to join our team to help take us to the next level.

Job Title:

Plant Manager

Job Summary:

As the Plant Manager, you will oversee all aspects of production and operations within the metals manufacturing facility. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure efficient and effective production processes while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and cost control.

Responsibilities:

1. Safety Compliance:

· Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment for employees.

· Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures, conduct regular safety inspections, and promote a culture of safety awareness.

· Investigate and report any accidents or incidents and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.

2. Production Management:

· Plan, organize, and oversee daily production activities to meet production targets and customer demands.

· Optimize production processes to maximize efficiency, minimize waste, and reduce downtime.

· Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet specifications and standards.

3. Operations Oversight:

· Monitor and analyze production metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

· Ensure team members have sufficient resources to perform their jobs and to meet goals and deadlines.

4. Personnel Management:

  • Engage and inspire people in the vision and goals of the plant and organization. Creates a culture of engagement, communication, and collaboration.
  • Set and communicate performance expectations and goals, and how these contribute to the strategy. Monitor, evaluate, and hold employees accountable for performance goals and expectations. Assess the talent of the team to ensure bench strength.
  • Drive accountability within teams and individuals to own their skills and capabilities.

5. Budget Management:

· Plan or assist in planning annual or project-specific budgets, ensuring that budgets and financial performance are in accordance with business strategic initiatives.

· Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements to optimize plant profitability.

· Monitor expenses and variances and take proactive measures to control costs and improve financial performance.

5. Customer Relations:

· Collaborate with sales and customer service to understand customer requirements and expectations.

· Ensure timely delivery of products and address any customer concerns or issues promptly and professionally.

6. Continuous Improvement:

· Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen, to streamline processes and enhance productivity.

· Encourage innovation and creativity among staff to identify and implement new ideas for process improvements and cost savings.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, business administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role within a metals manufacturing environment.

3. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals.

4. In-depth knowledge of metals manufacturing processes, equipment, and industry best practices.

5. Proven track record of driving operational excellence, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.

6. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on results and performance.

7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing software systems.

8. Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards applicable to manufacturing operations.

9. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees, customers, and senior management.

10. Welding background a plus.
