Position Title: Director of Talent Enablement
Reports to: Sr. Vice President of Human Resources
Position Description and Purpose: Founded in 1923 and headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Roskam Foods is a leading contract manufacturer that partners with world-renowned food brands, retailers, and food service providers to produce a myriad of frozen, refrigerated and shelf-stable products. Reporting to the Sr. Vice President of Human Resources, the Director of Talent Enablement will define and implement organizational development strategies and initiatives, such as performance management, employee engagement, leadership development, and communication. He/she is the owner of HR analytics, determining if HR initiatives are impactful and meaningful to the organization. The Director will lead the Talent Acquisition and Organizational Development team. This team is responsible for designing and implementing programs to enhance the employee experience through recruiting and onboarding and also for employee development throughout their life cycle.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develops and implements a Leadership Development strategy, to include all levels of leadership within the organization.
  • Owner of the performance management/review process. Responsible for the redesign and implementation of the performance review process.
  • Responsible for the talent mapping process.
  • Develops and implements an employee engagement strategy. This includes capturing data, analysis of the data, and implementing initiatives to drive up engagement.
  • Discovers continuous improvement opportunities and takes the initiative to drive incremental change in processes and systems. Acts as a change agent.
  • Leads a team of HR professionals who will design and implement programs to support the overall people strategies for Roskam.
  • Designs and implements career pathing for the organization, including direct and indirect labor.
  • Sets the strategy for Talent Acquisition and leads the Talent Acquisition team.
  • Responsible for the employment brand and the employee value proposition. Strategically integrates it into the Talent Acquisition strategy.
  • Drives organizational development initiatives through the People Operations team.
  • Responsible for sound HR Data Analytics.
  • Champions, supports, and facilitates cultural change initiatives by training, supporting, and directing both employees and management staff for plant.
  • Partners with other plant HR and Shared Services teams as needed.
  • Responsible for employee communications.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field (or equivalent related experience). Degree in IO (Industrial and Org Psychology) preferred.
  • At least seven (7) years of organizational development/talent development experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience leading a team.
  • HR experience in a union environment strongly preferred. Previous manufacturing experience required. Previous in food manufacturing a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in using HR Data Analytics to include statistical analysis.
  • Previous HR Business Partner/HR Generalist experience preferred.
  • Experience handling highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Experience conducting first-line and management training.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees and be perceived as an approachable and knowledgeable resource.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
