Social Worker Supervisor
The Social Work Supervisor provides leadership and supervision for the Social Worker group within the department. The Social Work Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and development of procedures and care provided by the Social Work staff, and for the professional oversight of the discipline. This includes monitoring the competency of staff members and the appropriateness of care provided to patients and their families.
This position provides direct supervision of the Social Work practice, assuring service excellence and compliance with all applicable hospital and departmental polices, laws, and department specific regulations. The Supervisor assists with the hiring and development of new employees, as well as assessment of productivity and appropriateness of team resources. This position is also responsible for the implementation and evaluation of performance improvement projects and related data, clinical procedures, protocols, research, and the education of the multi-disciplinary team members regarding social work procedures.
The supervisor is responsible for duties including education and mentoring of staff, managing social work clinic coverage and staff schedules. The supervisor may also provide direct patient care as required by programmatic needs. The Supervisor works in collaboration with a wide variety of internal and external constituents, including (but not limited to) team members, physicians, and staff throughout the UW Health continuum of care, patients, families, community services, and other health care system
