Purpose

To lead and grow a culture of manufacturing excellence, backed by world class reliability, driving best in class uptime. Establish this culture of excellence and apply the necessary tools, training, systems, and processes necessary to achieve and maintain this level of operations. Oversee the use and development of RFP’s computerized maintenance system (EAM) alongside the reliability team and operations teams to improve operational, maintenance, reliability, and purchasing teamwork in a manufacturing environment spanning the U.S. and Canada. Develop a standard approach to root cause analysis, downtime analysis, and preventive and predictive maintenance practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a vision and action plan for achieving world class reliability and operational excellence
  • Identify currently missing tools/training/resources and execute plan to fill these needs
  • Lead team of reliability team members through the execution of the established plan resulting in measurable uptime improvement across the company
  • Partner daily with operations leadership to understand current challenges and problem solve how to solve current and real challenges
  • Directly manage team of reliability and MRO team members including regional and site level dedicated staff
  • Complete standardization of downtime coding, analysis and reporting
  • Identify and implement key performance indicators in accordance with the Best Maintenance Practices and provide standard reporting tools to measure gaps and drive improvement
  • Implementation of standard computerized maintenance system
  • Identify current gaps in Reliability Playbook information and utilization, and evolve this system to one that is alive and produces results meeting performance expectations
  • Partner with EHS to standardize a root cause incident investigation reporting, review, and corrective action generating system used across all types of loss
  • Work with purchasing team to develop reliability based equipment and parts sourcing programs to include a specification, inspection, and acceptance program
  • Identify key asset reliability skills required throughout the organization and obtain and provide training in these areas (example – planning, MRO procedures etc.)
  • Identify and work with local managers to implement Maintenance Skills Programs and Apprenticeship programs that add long term value to our organization
  • Work in person at various RFP locations to be part of each team helping them overcome reliability challenges
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated use of SAP, Oracle or other CMMS as an effective maintenance management tools
  • Demonstrated effective verbal communication skills including training, facilitating meetings and events, written reports and presentations and project updates (if needed) and organizational capability • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Demonstrated effective computer skills with standard software packages
  • Demonstrated track record of people empowerment and driving decisions to the right levels
  • A team player that wants to be part of helping a hungry organization improve its asset reliability programs
  • Previous leadership role/roles in different maintenance & reliability positions
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or manufacturing, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of the position
  • 8 years’ experience in manufacturing, maintenance and reliability, engineering, or other relevant field
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and continuous improvement processes
  • Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and resources
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate, coach, lead and train direct reports through daily job assignments and team meetings
  • Ability to effectively manage conflict
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree in engineering
  • 10 years’ experience in maintenance supervisory or reliability role
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other Continuous Improvement methodology
