Development Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Director of Philanthropy, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks, Inc.

SUMMARY

The Development Coordinator successfully manages multiple projects and ongoing responsibilities positively and efficiently benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks. The position requires outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. The Development Coordinator’s primary roles are to support the organization’s day-to-day activities relating to events and fund development, manage social media content and strategy, and support the organization’s marketing efforts. Strong attention to detail and computer skills are a must.

Continual communication of each project’s status with all interested parties is critical. Achievement of goals and deadlines is expected. The Development Coordinator represents the organization's image with many internal and external publics. Strict adherence to the attributes featured in the “Attitude & Professionalism” section below will ensure the continuation of RMHC’s outstanding reputation in the community.

The Development Coordinator must complete a criminal background check and obtain a Class E driver’s license. Physical requirements include the ability to see to read documents and use a computer, type and use electronic devices, hear well enough to communicate with associated publics, sit for long periods, kneel or stoop to pick up items off the floor, and lift 25 pounds.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fundraising & Special Events

  • Provides support to the Director of Philanthropy, Development Assistant, and the President & CEO for fundraising events and giving campaigns as needed.
  • Assists with public relations projects, volunteer-driven events, and other projects as assigned.
  • Assists with press releases, community calendar posts, and event manuals.
  • Provides event support encompassing areas of donation acquisition; communication with contacts pertaining to each major event; accumulation and preparation of all supplies and assembly needed, and event mailings.
  • Serves as the Event Lead for at least one major event.
  • Supports events and campaigns at various levels
  • Responsible for most third-party events.
  • Manage all aspects of the mobile fundraising software.

Social Media

  • Provides content strategy for all social media, with input from staff
  • Creates posts for special events, and manages all post submissions for the organization
  • Engage with donors, outside events, and volunteers on all social media platforms, ensuring sponsor pages are “liked” and recognition of RMHC by others is “shared” on the various platforms.

Creative & Design

  • Provide support in creating printed pieces for special event and other fundraising activities.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus for this role.

Coordination of In-kind Donors & Other Organizational Contacts

  • Ensures timely acknowledgment of contributors as assigned, communicating effectively and coordinating involvement in acknowledgment and donor recognition with individuals in the organization who have been instrumental in obtaining particular gifts.
  • Completes general and selected campaign cash donation acknowledgments
  • Provides Meals from the Heart reconciliation for each House every month.
  • Works with the Director of Philanthropy and Development Assistant to track and implement needed database changes for the FileMaker developer.
  • Inputs all in-kind donations into the donor database in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintains donations and creates reports, assisting with recognition of trends, lapsed donors, and other fund-development opportunities with the Director of Philanthropy.

Administrative & Other Support

  • Finalizes and assembles all bills by entering corresponding check numbers, dates and amounts on invoices and stuffing envelopes and mailing bills.
  • Verifies that the Expenditure Savings Spreadsheet is accurate and updated, under the direction of the Ronald McDonald House Program Managers.
  • Organizes and maintains ticket databases for special events.
  • Understands the importance of his/her membership with the team of RMHC staff members, offering full support when deadlines and circumstances require that all do whatever it takes to ensure necessary success.
  • Assists the Director of Philanthropy in submitting articles for events and other development-related programs for organization newsletters
  • Serves on various event committees as needed
  • Works with the Director of Philanthropy and Development Assistant to manage TrueSense mailing and digital review pieces for changes, maintains mailing lists, tracks donors in the database, and submits donor files as requested

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
