Rodbat Management is Hiring a Security Patrol Officer (HSC) Near California, CA

 POSITION: SECURITY PATROL OFFICER 

REPORTS TO: SUPERVISOR

____________________________________________________________________________

  1. Provide/Conduct Customer Service and Public Relation Functions
    1. Greet customers/patrons and provide answers to their questions
    2. Provide patrons with correct directions to stores and other establishments within the shopping center and its surroundings
    3. Assist customers in locating their misplaced (“lost”) cars and/or articles
    4. Assist customers in locating their “lost” children, relatives, and/or friends
    5. Guide delivery personnel to correct parking areas and loading docks
    6. Respond and assess emergency calls (alarms, etc.) and relay/report such to appropriate/responsible parties or departments
  1. Patrol/Watch Mall Interior such as:
    1. Enforce and implement Hillsdale Shopping Center’s policy, rules, and regulations
    2. Watch for individuals violating Hillsdale Shopping Center’s Policy
    3. Investigate reports of incidents or illegal activities and document such as necessary
    4. Lock and unlock the Shopping Center’s entrances and exits
    5. Make certain property premises is secure during mall off-hours
    6. Patrol mall interior, corridors & restrooms
  1. Patrol/Watch Mall Exterior such as:
    1. Mall parking lots, stairwells, and sidewalks; look for hazards and unsafe conditions and report such
    2. Operate security vehicle to patrol property premises, erect or remove barricades, perform “DETEX” rounds, and perform other functions as necessary
    3. Truck tunnel & loading docks; Tunnel corridors & delivery hallways
    4. Watch tenants’, customers’, and company property
    5. Enforce all policies, rules, and regulations on mall exterior/property premises.
    6. Safeguard mall property and associated properties with it, its personnel, tenants, and customers, as well as their personal properties, while on property premises
    7. Investigate reports of incidents or illegal activities on mall exteriors and document such
  1. Conduct Vehicular Traffic, when necessary

    1. Put up & remove traffic barricades on property
    2. Enforce mall traffic and parking policies & regulations
    3. Cite vehicles in violation of mall traffic & parking policies and regulations
    4. Maintain a watch on tunnel entrance and exit when necessary
    5. Maintain pedestrian and vehicular traffic control during emergencies
  1. Observe & Report:

    1. Any suspicious persons and activities in and around mall property boundaries
    2. Any violations of mall policies, rules, and regulations
    3. Any property damages; health & safety hazards
    4. Any out-of-the-ordinary situations and incidents; criminal activities
    5. Any violations of Federal, State & City criminal/vehicle codes in/around mall boundaries
  1. Write and Record:

    1. Daily Activity Report
    2. Narrative statements 
    3. Incident Reports and Miscellaneous Service reports

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possession of a valid Guard Card.
  • Completion of Guard Training Program, including how to make a citizen’s arrest, properly handcuff, and
  • One year of experience with MS Word and Excel Software
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency certificate
  • Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and ability to operate department vehicles.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal, writing, and grammar skills
  • Ability to observe and accurately describe a situation both verbally and in writing, with specific facts and details without personal opinion
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk up to 4 miles per shift
  • Ability to organize and prioritize more than one task at a time and seek assistance as needed from supervisor(s)
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with all types and temperaments of customers and coworkers without losing composure.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be physically able to operate a variety of Security equipment such as computers.
  • Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle if necessary. 
  • Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials.
  • Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to twenty pounds frequently.
  • Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for physically active work. 
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, stand, sit, and walk for at least up to 8 hours in a shift. 
  • Must be able to climb at least 3 flights of stairs. Must be able to actively respond to emergency and non-emergency-related incidents per 8-hour shift.
