Job Description & Qualifications

If you have a passion for math and a gift for inspiring young minds, we are looking for you. We are currently
recruiting for a math teacher to join the RMDS team of high quality staff. Must have a solid understanding of
the national curriculum standards and have experience closing the achievement gap, as well as developing
engaging and innovative lessons that allow our students to grow academically, socially and emotionally.
Ability to incorporate technology and hands-on learning experiences into the classroom with enthusiasm.
Collaborating with the MS/HS instruction team on an ongoing basis is inherent to this position. Develop,
implement and support individualized practices for achieving learning outcomes for students with specific
needs based on the Individual Education Plan (IEP) as required with the Individuals with Disabilities
Education Improvement Act (IDEIA).

Salary Range: $53,778.00 - $73,049.00 (Salary is commensurate with educational degree and experience)
Bonus: 2nd year contract signing bonus available
Benefits: Full Medical benefits for employee (additional benefits available based on employee selection)
FLSA Statues: Exempt
Work Year: 188 days (includes 180 student contact days)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in Deaf Education.
Colorado Standard or Provisional Teaching Licensure, with a Deaf Education endorsement as well as
Highly Qualified in Math (required by October 1, of the year hired)
  • Excellent command of written English required
  • Excellent command American Sign Language required

Teaching responsibilities include:

  • Plan and implement effective instructional practices that maximize student learning.
  • Follow a system of continuous evaluation of student progress consistent with established instructional
objectives and school policy by using a variety of assessment techniques.
  • Apply a wide variety of instructional techniques, including student-centered learning, cooperative
learning, and instructional media to promote learning.
  • Develop and maintain a class environment conducive to effective academic and social emotional
learning.
  • Serve as an active member of our professional learning community. Collaborate with other educators
on teams to provide an effective instructional program.
  • Communicate often with families regarding student progress.
  • Maintain professional growth.
  • Engage in action research for continuous improvement of instruction.
