rockITdata is currently seeking a Senior Test Engineer with the following:

Responsibilities:

• Synthesizes customer contractual needs, requirements including technical, schedule, and cost constraints into solutions for integrating, testing, evaluating, and transitioning systems into operations to deliver enterprise capabilities.
• Maintains standards, practices, and procedures for integrating, testing, evaluating and transitioning systems and enterprise capabilities, and coordinates with stakeholders.
• Works with the product owners and developers closely to help reproduce and diagnose issues.
• Evaluates system design concepts, requirements, risks and opportunities, and processes for integration, test, evaluation, and transition impacts.
• Generates system requirement and enterprise capability verification approaches and customer acceptance criteria.
• Participates in reviews of systems and elements under development to ensure traceability of requirement compliance through verification and validation.
• Designs, develops, and implements test and evaluation strategies; plans and measures to assure reliability of systems in conjunction with system specifications and defined enterprise capabilities; and integrates system and enterprise elements together so they work as a whole.
• Reviews, evaluates, and derives requirements for testability.
• Perform manual execution of functional testing, regression testing, smoke testing, exploratory testing, and negative testing across various modules of the application in a dynamic environment with evolving strategy and scope.
• Analyze test cases to determine an efficient and appropriate use of automated tools.
• Develops and directs preparation for and execution of comprehensive test and evaluation plans, procedures, and schedules which verify and validate enterprise capabilities, system requirements, performance and operability.
• Coordinates system integration, test, evaluation, and transition activities with other organizations.
• Conducts readiness for system integration, test, evaluation and transition activities.
• Perform software testing based on business timelines and sprint schedules.
• Participate in the creation of periodic reports on test status and risks, and a final report covering all testing activities that includes recommendations for application implementation and post-deployment operations.
• Adheres to testing processes and ensures all test activities follow standard processes.
• Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
• Participate in the creation of periodic reports on test status and risks, and a final report covering all testing activities that includes recommendations for application implementation and post-deployment operations.
• Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive system evaluation reports and risk assessments.
• Evaluates discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes affecting systems and enterprise capabilities.
• Provides direct, interfacing support to the customer for system integration, test, evaluation and transition activities.
• Support UAT Testing and conduct smoke validation in production environment.
• Support the lead by taking ownership of side tasks, such as daily report, bug vetting, coaching of new team members.

Qualifications:

Candidates that do not meet the required qualifications will not be considered.

• 5 years of relevant experience, 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related scientific or technical discipline
• Knowledge in testing functionality, matching to requirements, and in having primary responsibility for individual projects and systems.
• Experience with automation testing.
• Experience working in an Agile scrum solution development and testing environment
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, One Note, Outlook)
• Able to pass a background check to obtain a VA Public Trust (High-Risk) clearance
