    WORK DAY/YEAR: 8 hours per day; Monday - Friday; 260 days/year: 8:00 a.m.- 4:45 p.m. (45 minute non paid lunch)
    CLASSIFICATION: B-2-1
    SALARY: $19.65 per hour, minimum
    LOCATION: This position is to work on site at the Edison Administration Building.

    Job Summary:
    • Greet and welcome internal and external customers at the Edison building, including community members, students, and staff.
    • Respond to questions from stakeholders via phone and in person, often serving as the first point of contact for their interaction with Rochester Public Schools.
    • This staff member is primarily responsible for monitoring the door buzzer system and assisting visitors to the Edison building.
    • Answer phones – answering general information about the District. Redirecting calls to appropriate offices.
    • Administrative support for special projects as assigned by the superintendent.
    • Answers Communications phone line and routes calls to the Director of Comms.
    • Oversees and coordinates District Peachjar, RPS's partner program for flyer distribution to families in the District.
    • Supports Financial aspect of comms: purchase orders, reconciling receipts, etc.
    • Develops weekly news media reports for Comms team and the District (compiles a report of when/where RPS was in the news).
    • Performs data entry tasks.
    • Primary contact for District reservations of the School Board Room and other reservable spaces at the Edison building
    • Produce, duplicate, proofread, and update documents for the Superintendent’s office and other District offices to support and promote District programs.
    • Flexibility to assist in other District offices with clerical duties during their peak times as needed.
    • Support projects of Senior Administrative Support Specialist as assigned.
    • Accept and perform other duties within the level of responsibility as assigned by the Supervisor.
    Qualifications:
    • Experience with Google applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Skyward and the ability to learn and work on multiple computer programs.
    • Excellent customer service skills both in person and via telephone.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading.
    • Must have ability to prioritize, organize, take initiative and manage multiple tasks.
    • Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills.
    • Must have ability to handle frequent interruptions.
    • Must be adaptable and flexible to work independently and in a team-working environment.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Sound judgment and problem solving abilities.
    • Excellent attendance record and absenteeism.
