Robert Half is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Linux Administrator to join one of our client's IT teams. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in managing Linux environments, specifically in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu, along with proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware. The candidate should also have hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, and possess strong scripting skills, including Shell Scripting and automation using Ansible.Responsibilities:Manage and maintain Linux-based systems, with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu distributions.Perform system installation, configuration, and ongoing system updates and patch management.Administer VMware virtualization infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.Deploy, configure, and manage Linux-based systems on Azure cloud platform.Collaborate with other teams to optimize and enhance the performance of cloud-based solutions.Develop and maintain Shell scripts for automating routine system administration tasks.Utilize Ansible for configuration management, ensuring consistency across multiple servers.Implement and maintain security best practices for Linux environments.Ensure systems are compliant with relevant industry standards and regulations.Provide technical support for Linux-related issues, working closely with cross-functional teams to resolve complex problems.Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
