We are on the look-out for an organized individual with accounting chops to join a growing organization in the long-term contract role of Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Based in the Westborough, Massachusetts region, this company offers an engaging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.Your responsibilities in this role- Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner- Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management- Partake in annual closing processes- Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed- Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments- Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision- Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation- Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
