This company, based in the Torrance, California area, offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded. Preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and being responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close will be essential for this role. To succeed in this role, you will need to be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. Do you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets? You'll be preferred for this role.
Key responsibilities
- Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
- Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
- Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
- Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation
- In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
- Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
- Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
- Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
- Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
- Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
- Participate in various department-wide initiatives
- Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
