In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will have charge over many aspects of internal reporting. This multi-faceted, challenging long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity is at a Aliso Viejo, California based company where effort is rewarded and the environment is thriving.How you will make an impact- Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation- Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation- Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision- Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments- Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP- Participate in various department-wide initiatives- Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner- Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
