Our growing client is seeking a cost accountant to join their team. This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. You will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. Then this may be the role for you.What you get to do every day- Support audits and general ledger preparation- Implement standardized costing methodology for all domestic plants- Design a cost accounting system, and manage the documents and records of the organization- Collect data and plan projects to decide costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste- Analyze the data collected and log a detailed record of the results- Monitor the cycle count program and conduct physical inventories- Estimate new and proposed product costs- Determine any changes in cost by analyzing any changes in services or goods provided- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs- Create reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services- Carry out variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances- Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements- Recommend costs and cost savings based on analysis- Create internal cost audits
