Robert Half has an exciting opportunity at a rapidly-growing organization in the Wholesale Distribution industry for a Staff Accountant. This company is located in the Skokie, Illinois region and is offering a dynamic, mulit-faceted long-term contract / contract to permanent opportunity where effort is rewarded. As Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. Be prepared to dedicate a fair amount of time to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You'll also communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, take part in compliance, and look over schedules for the reporting processes.Your responsibilities- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation- Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner- Participate in various department-wide initiatives- Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management- Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed- Maintain monthly payment schedules- Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP- Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision- Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments- Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
