We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll and Benefits Manager to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the full cycle biweekly payroll process for over 600 employees across multiple states. Additionally, you will manage the open enrollment process and serve as the primary point of contact for all benefit-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multi-state payroll, extensive knowledge of payroll taxes and tax laws, and a proven track record of maintaining accuracy and compliance within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Biweekly Payroll Processing:
  • Execute end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payment to over 600 employees.
  • Verify and reconcile timecards, attendance records, and other relevant data for payroll calculations.
  • Handle payroll adjustments, bonuses, commissions, and other payroll-related transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll tax regulations.
  1. Multi-State Payroll Expertise:
  • Manage payroll for employees across multiple states, staying up-to-date with varying tax regulations, labor laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Address state-specific deductions, wage garnishments, and other payroll nuances as necessary.
  1. Benefit Administration:
  • Oversee open enrollment processes, including communication, enrollment, and coordination with benefit providers.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employee benefit questions and concerns, providing guidance and resolution.
  1. Tax Compliance:
  • Stay informed about changes in federal and state tax laws, and ensure accurate payroll tax withholding and reporting.
  • Prepare and submit all required payroll tax filings, including W-2s and 1099s.
  1. Record Keeping and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records and employee data.
  • Generate payroll reports as needed for management, finance, and compliance purposes.
  1. Audit and Compliance:
  • Conduct periodic internal audits of payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with external payroll audits and government agency inquiries.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll and benefits administration.
