Robert Half is seeking a project professional for an interim Payroll Manager opportunity. In this contract Payroll Manager position, you will be responsible for all aspects of payroll operations (vendors, systems, processes and integration). You will create timely, right, and compliant payrolls, in addition to streamlining processes and providing exquisite customer service. Are you a professional who is motivated and boasts payroll management skills? Then this Payroll Manager role is ideal for you! This long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity is based in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area.Your responsibilities in this role- Review and improve current processes by suggesting, leading, and working on projects- Keep an eye on all internal and external audits- Partner with other areas in Finance, as well as Human Resources, Tax, IT, and other departments as necessary for reporting, compliance and strategic analysis- Establish and maintain a team, as well as motivate it to success- Take charge of record keeping and control systems to maintain internal safeguards- When required, complete payroll analysis- Oversee pre- and post-payroll auditing/reconciling procedures and troubleshoot anomalies- Create all weekly, monthly, and special compensation payroll runs. Clarify pay policies (LOA, disability, worker's compensation, vacation, bonus, etc.) and make sure proper amounts/deductions are applied to earnings codes in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws- In charge of payroll operations as well as staff members- Work hand-in-hand with additional members of senior Finance leadership staff to get the job done- Effectively present information and respond to questions from senior executives and cross-functional business leaders
