A client company is on the lookout through Robert Half for a charismatic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist. Be the director of first impressions in this Medical Receptionist role, providing customer service over the phone and in-person.

The ideal candidate for this Medical Receptionist position is a self-starter who finds value working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while providing support and solutions to patients, healthcare professionals, insurance providers, etc.

This short-term contract / temporary employment opportunity is based in the Bridgeport, Connecticut area.

How you will make an impact

  • Responsible for insurance verifications with health insurance organizations
  • Providing administrative assistance to patients
  • Efficiently corresponding to telephone calls and directing inquiries in a detail-oriented and effective manner
  • Acting as a liaison with patients and providers in a compassionate and kind manner
  • Providing support in the management of patient medical records
  • Ensuring the waiting and reception areas are kept neat and clean; reporting on any damage
  • Making appointments, collecting co-pays, and providing receipt of money in accordance with established procedures
  • Referring patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
  • Delegating various files and providing general office duties, e.g. data entry, faxing, scanning, etc.- 2 years of experience as a Medical Receptionist
  • Solid understanding of Epic Software
  • Strong familiarity with Receptionist Duties
  • Booking Appointments experience highly desired
  • Command of Basic Medical Terminology
  • Well-founded grasp of Follow-up Appointments
  • General familiarity with Patient Appointments
  • Practical knowledge of Patients Appointments
  • Foundational knowledge in Insurance Verifications
  • Proven knowledge of Confirm Appointments
  • Quality experience with customer service
  • You can succeed in this position if you have experience with insurance billing and an electronic medical record system, as well as social media platforms
  • 1 or more years of experience handling multi-line phone systems
  • High School Diploma required, A.S. Degree in healthcare / related field preferred
  • Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work
  • Proficiency with multi-line phone systems required
  • General grasp of medical terminology
