Robert Half is looking for an AP Accountant for a permanent opportunity with a respected company. As the AP Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of the accounts payable with 3 way matching, preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Based in the Vero Beach, Florida area, this role is a career-building, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.Your responsibilities in this role- Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested- Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation- Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting- Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll- Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP- Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments- Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner- Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision- Take part in various department-wide initiatives- Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
