Robert Half is collaborating with a prominent local law firm headquartered in New Mexico to identify a dedicated and highly skilled Intellectual Property Paralegal. This exciting opportunity entails supporting the firm's robust intellectual property practice with a focus on providing comprehensive legal assistance and ensuring the efficient management of intellectual property matters. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in contributing to the firm's continued success and commitment to delivering exceptional legal services in the field of intellectual property law.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced IP paralegal who can either reside in New Mexico or work remotely from any location.Desired QualificationsMinimum two years of experience as an intellectual property paralegal.Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required.Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational skills, initiative, and ability to work independently.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.Detailed knowledge of U.S. patent, PCT, U.S. trademark, and Madrid Protocol rules, regulations, and forms.Experience with electronic filing systems such as EFS-Web, EPAS, e-PCT, TEAS, ETAS, and ESTTA.Familiarity with international patent office websites, including CIPO, EPO, IP Australia, and JPO.Experience with U.S. copyright rules, regulations, and forms, including the eCO Registration System.Experience with intellectual property docketing systems, especially Foundation IP, is a plus.Job DutiesPrepare and file initial U.S. patent, PCT, U.S. trademark, and Madrid trademark applications, as well as follow-on filings.Coordinate foreign patent and trademark filings and handle client reporting.Prepare and file U.S. copyright applications via the eCO Registration System.Manage docket deadlines and enter data into the firm's computerized docketing system.Communicate with attorneys, clients, inventors, and patent office representatives to resolve IP-related issues.Assist with contracts and agreements.Location:Work remotely from home or anywhere with the flexibility to occasionally work from the office if desired.
