Senior Cybersecurity Analyst (Remote)

About the Role:

This critical role plays a vital role in safeguarding our organization's IT infrastructure through proactive security measures, incident response, and user awareness initiatives. You'll be responsible for monitoring security information and event management (SIEM) systems like Sentinel, identifying suspicious activity, and collaborating with the team to implement robust security controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Security Monitoring & Analysis: Leverage SIEM/Sentinel expertise to monitor for suspicious activity, analyze security events, and support incident response efforts.
  • Policy & Compliance: Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive cybersecurity policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Security Control Implementation: Evaluate, implement, and maintain security controls across infrastructure, systems, applications, and data to mitigate risks.
  • Email & Network Security: Manage and administer email security systems and maintain secure configurations for Microsoft Azure and network resources.
  • Endpoint Security: Maintain and administer Microsoft endpoint security solutions.
  • User Management & Access Control: Perform user and system access reviews to ensure appropriate access levels and identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Security Awareness Training: Collaborate on company-wide cybersecurity awareness programs and phish testing initiatives.
  • Cybersecurity Audits & Testing: Assist with security audits and penetration testing activities.
  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Contribute to the development and maintenance of disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response procedures.
  • Cloud Administration Support: Assist with cloud administration duties as necessary.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Senior-Level Experience: This role requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a cybersecurity analyst role with a proven track record of success.
  • SIEM/Sentinel Expertise: Deep understanding and proficiency in SIEM/Sentinel solutions for security event monitoring and incident response.
  • Security Policy & Procedures: Demonstrated experience in developing, writing, and implementing effective cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Experience working with security vendors to evaluate and implement security solutions.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Solid understanding of Microsoft cloud technologies (M365, Azure, Server and Storage, Exchange, SharePoint).
  • Project Management: Experience managing cybersecurity projects and working independently on tight deadlines.
  • Organization & Detail-Oriented: Proven organizational skills and a meticulous eye for detail to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Ability to logically analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Remote Work Environment: Thrives in a remote team environment and excels at self-management.

Education & Certifications (Preferred):

  • Undergraduate degree in an IT-related field.
  • CISSP certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to occasionally lift moderate weight for IT equipment.
  • Occasional availability for nights, weekends, or travel (as needed).
