Position Overview:The Collections Specialist will play a crucial role in managing the company's accounts receivable process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts and maintaining positive relationships with clients. This contract to hire role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to resolving payment issues. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in collections, preferably within the manufacturing industry, and a proven track record of achieving collection targets while upholding the company's reputation. Key Responsibilities:Accounts Receivable Management: Monitor and maintain accounts receivable aging reports, identifying overdue accounts and following up with customers to secure payment in a timely manner.Collections Activities: Initiate collection calls and emails to customers with overdue balances, utilizing tact and diplomacy to resolve payment discrepancies and negotiate payment plans when necessary.Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact for billing inquiries and payment arrangements.Payment Processing: Record and reconcile customer payments, accurately updating accounts receivable records and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.Credit Analysis: Evaluate customer creditworthiness and recommend appropriate credit limits, collaborating with sales and finance teams to mitigate credit risks and optimize cash flow.Dispute Resolution: Investigate and resolve billing disputes and discrepancies, working closely with internal stakeholders and customers to achieve mutually beneficial solutions.Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable aging, collection activities, and cash flow projections, providing insights to management for decision-making purposes.Qualifications:Proven experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics 365).Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
