Robert Half is Hiring an Accounting Clerk Near Homewood, AL

Job Overview:

We are seeking a strong Accounting Clerk for a client of ours in the Homewood, AL area. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a crucial role in supporting our finance department with various accounting and administrative tasks. You will be responsible for accurately maintaining financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and providing support to the accounting team as needed. This is an immediate contract-to-hire opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, issuing payments, and reconciling statements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute financial reports, including monthly statements, expense reports, and budget variance analysis.
  • Assist with payroll processing, including data entry, verification, and distribution of paychecks.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and financial statement preparation.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance department, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents.
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Ability to handle Billing tasks
• Proficient in Data Entry
• Experience in Invoice Processing
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with NetSuite
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented and high level of accuracy in work
• Knowledge of general accounting principles
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations.
