We are offering an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Accounting Clerk in Decatur, Alabama. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining financial records in a precise and timely manner. You will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on delivering quality results. Responsibilities:• Analyze accounts payable transactions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies• Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and receivable ledger to validate charges and ensure accurate and timely payments• Utilize AP data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvements or cost savings• Communicate with vendors and customers as needed, investigate and resolve discrepancies in billings and payments• Collaborate with adjacent departments to streamline processes and recommend improvements to accounts payable policies and procedures• Manage inventory purchase orders, check requests, and other related documentation for completeness and compliance with financial policies, procedures, and contractual requirements• Perform calculations to determine appropriate payment schedules and amounts, making modifications as necessary• Code, verify, and electronically enter accounts payable data into QuickBooks with the correct account, department, and period• Maintain vendor files and reconcile corporate credit card statement on a monthly basis• Assist with department month-end close process• Other duties as assigned by the department manager
