Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The Accountant will be responsible for facilitating corporate tax compliance, supporting audit activities, and ensuring the integrity of financial data through the application of accounting principles. Essential Functions: Prepare tax provisions schedules, payments, and reports while maintaining the company’s tax database. Coordinate with audit firm to provide accurate information for Federal and State income tax returns, and review prepared tax returns. Monitor developments in tax legislation to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local tax regulations. Assist in the preparation of monthly and/or quarterly sales and use tax forms as required by law. Collaborate with the Accounting Team Leader to analyze financial reports and ensure accuracy in income, expenses, and earnings. Manage accounts receivable activities including cash receipts, collection of open receivables, and invoice creation. Handle accounts payable activities such as processing vendor invoices and reconciling inventory. Monitor and reconcile general ledger entries and balance sheet accounts for accuracy. Assist in coordinating external audits of company accounts and ensure availability of requested documents. Prepare and submit reports required by regulatory agencies. Additional Responsibilities: Train employees on Plex procedures to ensure accurate data entry and timely processing of invoices. Manage contract expiration dates to ensure compliance and continuity of services. Work Environment: This role operates within a detail oriented office environment utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Physical Demands: Candidates must be able to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods and lift files up to 50 pounds. Occasional bending or standing on a stool may be required. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field. Three plus years of manufacturing accounting experience. One plus years of multiple-state sales tax experience. Preferred Qualifications: Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Knowledge of sales tax software such as Avalara.
