This position is for a Project Superintendent within the Bus Division of RMS Energy. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast paced, growing company working on electrical equipment in power plants and other large industrial facilities, including Isolated Phase Bus Duct, Non-Seg Bus Duct, Switchgear, Generator Circuit Breakers, and Transformers including individual project execution on schedule and budget with a focus on site activities, project planning, assignment of crew members, and scheduling of personnel. This position can be based in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee.
Required job functions 
  • Function as the on-site leader for large project execution including safety, quality and work efficiency. 
  • Lead project kick-off, including but not limited to, reviewing scope sheets, preparing a logistics plan, and scheduling & conducting an on-site kick-off meeting with all trade partners;
  • Read and interpret drawings, project manuals, specifications, submittals, and the like to ensure that projects are delivered according to the construction documents, on time and within budget;
  • Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, consultants, inspectors and vendors to complete each project on time
  • Manage electricians and subcontractors performing electrical construction scopes
  • Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various stages of the project
  • Perform inspections or schedule inspectors to meet the varying safety and compliance regulations of each job location
  • Maintain a written daily log of visitors, job actions performed, materials expended, and problems resolved on the job site
  • Ensure all assigned personnel have met all company mandated requirements to perform work on-site. 
  • Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, organizing meetings and cooperating with team members in various roles as necessary
  • Job planning including labor, material, and subcontractors as required. 
  • Ability to direct work on-site and remotely as required.
  • Work effectively alongside assigned team, other crafts on-site, and other regional team members. 
  • Interpret construction, welding, project manuals, and electrical drawings, and take or read measurements according to plan layout and procedures. 
  • Determine appropriate equipment needed for project execution to include welding, test equipment, consumables or other equipment as required. 
  • Supervise on-site the rigging, lifting, setting, alignment, and fit of equipment in position according to drawings and specifications. 
  • Supervise welding aluminum components in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead, 6G test required).
  • Ensure all equipment utilized on-site is maintained and inspect daily for damage or safety concerns. 
  • Ensure all required job reports completed as directed by the company to include JSA, Daily Time Sheets or other requirements as needed. 
Experience:
  • 10 Years Leading/Supervising field service personnel with knowledge of OSHA standards and PPE in electrical construction or large Electrical contractor project experience
  • Good reading comprehension for technical documents, such as safety regulations, assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Familiar with medium and high voltage electrical equipment.
Other Requirements: 
  • Extensive travel between multiple job sites and simultaneously manage work loads of individual projects
  • Keen eye to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and ability to suggest solutions for deficiencies or problems
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; community college or technical school a plus 
  • Ability to pass company drug and alcohol screening and background check. 
  • Valid and current driver’s license 
  • OSHA 10 / 30 Preferred 
  • Ability to hold TWIC card 
  • Capacity to physically lift up to 100 lbs
