Building Crafts, Inc is Hiring a Project Superintendent Near Cincinnati, OH

Summary of Position:This position is on the jobsite that manages and coordinates the construction of a single project in the water and wastewater treatment industry. Project Superintendents must have a background in water and wastewater construction, concentrating on excavations, underground piping, concrete forming of all kinds, and process equipment. The Project Superintendent will supervise the skilled trade crews and subcontractors. Project Superintendents are skilled at getting the best out of the people and projects that they manage. They thrive on planning projects and working with project teams.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Work effectively with project manager to manage construction projects
  • Report and escalate problems to the management team as needed
  • Maintain amicable relationships with the clients, all team members, subcontractors and material suppliers
  • Analyze specifications and drawings to plan for construction including start/completion times and staffing requirements
  • Schedule and oversee each phase of construction from start to finish; coordinate daily jobsite work tasks and inspections
  • Plan and implement concrete construction tasks using various formwork
  • Manage installation of various equipment installations
  • Plan and manage complicated piping installations, and excavations
  • Responsible for reporting on job progress, safety inspections, wage and classification, workplace injury, and disciplinary action
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and complete maintenance logs
  • Ensure all labor and materials are received in a timely manner based on production and installation lead times; order and coordinate delivery/pick-up of all materials required
  • Perform constant on-site monitoring and quality control function; manage and resolve punch lists and prevent potential issues and problems
  • Attend manager meetings relevant to site development
  • Possess and maintain thorough knowledge of SDS and OSHA requirements; implement OSHA guidelines and programs; enforce established safety guidelines and promote a safe workplace; conduct regular safety meetings with workers
  • Oversee general job and employee scheduling while working closely with labor coordinator
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Experience as acting Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent on water and wastewater construction projects or similar civil projects.
  • Educational background, preferably in the field of construction management. In lieu of a formal education background, possess the equivalent experience of working thru the ranks of journeyman to Foreman to Superintendent.
  • Solid technical background, with understanding, problem-solving, and hands-on experience.
  • Excellent client and internal communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
  • Prolonged periods of standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to safely work with sharp tools and/or power equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
  • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
