RMG-Renaissance Manufacturing Group is Hiring a Quality Inspector Near Anniston, AL

  • Analyzes product processes and product characteristics by applying basic metrology tools to verify product dimensional quality is in accordance with engineering specifications.
  • Analyzes product processes and product characteristics by utilizing mechanical testing equipment and procedures.
  • Applies problem solving techniques to analyze and resolves problems with product geometry, dimensions, mechanical properties, etc.
  • Communicates with Product Engineering, Pattern Shop Manager, Quality Manager, and Director of Operations to determine data requirements.
  • Gathers/collects data as required or directed to determine opportunities for product improvement.
  • Incorporates the use of solid models/gauges from Engineering for dimensional comparison of product characteristics to dimensional requirements.
  • Collects data as required to generate accurate reports on product defects and scrap.
  • Provides training instruction to (Finishing) personnel for the product specification and requirements.
  • Uses reasoning ability to determine good or bad castings by looking at pictures, photos, or drawings.
  • Performs visual inspection of finished products for compliance with specifications.
  • Completes documentation needed to support testing procedures, including data capture forms, equipment log books, or inventory forms.
  • Completes reports on process defects and scrap.
  • Conducts general area and workstation housekeeping for maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Stores’ inventory and materials in neat and labeled areas consistent with 5S principles.
  • Supports and participates in high performing teams.
  • Participates in safety activities such as support for Suggestion Boards, Grass Root team projects, 5S projects, department ergonomic improvements.
  • Works safely, follows safety rules and regulations, and assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Physical Requirements:

Bends, stoops, crouches, reaches, and pulls. Walks, cleans, and completes paperwork. Lifts and moves up to 40 pounds. Holds and lifts parts of different sizes, shapes, and weights, in order to inspect. Inspects parts using near vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.


Foundry Environment:

Regularly exposed to humid conditions, airborne particles, extreme cold and heat. (Foundry building has overhead heaters, fans, and air socks for better working conditions). Exposed to sparks while grinding and loud noises from multiple machines running at the same time. Regularly exposed to moving wheels of various grinders while making repetitive hand and arm movement.
