RMD Group is Hiring a Sales and Event Manager RMD Group/ Ballast Point (Anaheim & Long Beach) Near San Diego, CA
Position Summary:
To support the Sales & Event Department in all event-related activities. Contract/temporary position with the potential to become full-time.Focusing on driving accelerated growth by achieving strategic monthly goals through direct calls and identifying opportunities that develop new business and increase event sales and strengthen RMD Group x Ballast Point relationships with key meeting and event clientele. Responsible for detailing, servicing, and upselling all contracted private events.
Type: Hourly, Part-time
Pay scale: $25.00-$35.00 Bonus opportunities
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Sales
Soliciting and maintaining private event business for all RMD Venues, Ballast Point Sales & Anaheim & Long Beach
Proactively identify, pursue, and maintain a constant pipeline of potential customers via prospecting, networking and referral activities
Qualify and Contract Inbound Leads per market segment/lead day
Build clientele relationships to encourage repeat clients
Create and send proposals with sample menus, minimums and cost estimates for interested clients
Follow Up on all generated proposals and revise as necessary
Send contracts out for all approved events, countersigned by Sr Sales Manager or DOS
Conduct site tours of the venues
Ensure all prospecting, communication and event data is entered into Triple Seat.
Log all meetings, sites, and calls to ensure proper tracking of clients and prospecting
Meet and discuss monthly goals & all potential events in weekly Sales Meeting
Accurately forecast on a weekly and monthly cadence to meet and exceed quotas
Assist in development of lead generating sales initiatives and materials
Participate in community and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and the achievement of sales and revenue goals.
Stay informed of new developments and trends in the event and hospitality industry while monitoring competitor activity, products, strengths, and weaknesses to continually improve sales strategies
Perform special projects and responsibilities as assigned by the RMD Partners, GMs, Director of Retail, Senior Sales Manager or DOS
Assist in soliciting and maintaining private event business for all RMD Venues by:
Building and maintaining positive working relationships with RMD Event clients (including third parties and direct corporate clients)
Participate in any sales blitzes/promotional events/gifting etc.
Participate in at least one professional organization to maintain high visibility within the industry and promote venues
Event Management:
Effectively coordinate and advance all aspects of the event servicing phase
If Sr Sales Manager Books event, Meet and/or speak with to review any details discussed during contract process
Send introductory email outlining timeline of detailing process within 2 days of event contracting
Set appropriate tasks in Tripleseat & Calendar
Create digital and hard file for each event to include: checklist, proposal, contract, BEO, vendor invoicing, change sheet, receipts, recaps, final numbers
Ensure all deposits and final payments are paid by due date and noted in Triple Seat
Meet and/or speak with client to fully understand the desired event logistics
Prepare detailed Banquet Event Order in TripleSeat
Draft due to Client no later than 2 weeks prior to event date
Use TripleSeat and enter all communication to allow for transparency on event status
Log all meetings, sites, and calls to ensure proper tracking of clients
Distribute the appropriate paperwork and coordinate with the proper departments to ensure quality event delivery and customer satisfaction
Staffing Schedule
Kitchen and Food Quantities and Presentation
Ensure all final numbers are entered into TripleSeat and payments are closed out by the morning after the event
Send final receipts to clients, along with thank you note and feedback form immediately following the event, with senior sales manager copied (if applicable)
Debrief Private Event Lead with all event details, so that they may effectively run all onsite/day of event operations
Drive overall event revenues through up-selling goals on food, beverage, AV and third party services
Negotiate and oversee all contracts with third party vendors
Manage customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs.
Oversee and ensure positive customer experiences from file turnover through the post event phase
Attend venue manager meetings to review and discuss upcoming confirmed events
Assist in setting Venue Operations team’s up for successful on-site event servicing
Meet with PE Lead prior to staff arrival to review hot points and BEO
Outline F&B Upsell Opportunities and Extension Rates
Create proof for seated menus
Introduce Client to PE Lead
Assist with set up and décor of event
Follow up with PE Lead / MOD day after event to send recap and finalize billing
Introduce to venue PE Lead/MOD
Assist in event décor, linen management and event vendors
Coordinate cleaning of linens
Coordinate all onsite vendor needs
Oversee tracking and storage of décor
Qualifications:
At least 4 years of experience with extensive knowledge in the service industry
Must be able to provide legible communication
Must be comfortable learning new skills
Must have a hands-on, proactive management style

Education:
Must have a high school diploma
College degree or equivalent experience
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand/walk for up to 8 hours at a time
Must be able to sit for up to 8 hours at a time
Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds safely and properly
Ability to reach and bend to serve guests across the bar/table
Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment
No offensive tattoos
Must be able to work nights, holidays, and weekends
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
San Diego County Food Handlers Card (must be obtained within 30 days of employment). Serve safe certificate preferred.
