Position Purpose Under regular supervision, supports the administration of the company’s financial accounting functions. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Maintains chart of accounts, performs allocations and/or ensures the appropriate recording of expenses. Accounts for fixed assets or leases. Completes various reconciliations, projects, and tasks when needed. As a level II accountant, day to day responsibilities are similar to the level I accountant with growing complexity and expectations. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Participation in monthly, quarterly and year-end accounting closes, including preparation of financial statements for moderately complex entities. Utilize analytical skills to respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data. Works with accounting contacts to maintain and update the company’s accounting policies. Assists in implementation of accounting changes, as required by Statutory and GAAP guidance. Collaborate with teammates to identify, design and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness. Perform account reconciliations, including identification and remediation of all issues Education & Experience Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field 2 years of related experience in lieu of education [OR] equivalent level of education and experience Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies Ability to use analytical methods to understand relationships, check facts, and find creative yet workable solutions. Ability to investigate and identify potential issues. Ability to use various tools to query, summarize, and analyze large amounts of data. Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external contacts on Financial Accounting issues. Ability to adhere to processes and controls.
