Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with weekly certified payroll reporting on contracts subject to the Davis-Bacon Act
  • Responsible for creating and updating all craft/class templates and weekly payroll submissions
  • Building relationships with owner/agencies and tracking wage anniversaries for Davis-Bacon projects
  • Work directly with Operations and General Contractors regarding Prevailing Wage projects, wage determinations and maintain accuracy on certified reporting
  • Enter apprentices in Rapids DOL program, upload all OA Certificates on apprentices for new enrollments, renewals and changes.
  • Reconciles payroll-related general ledger and prepares reports or statements summarizing payroll-related accounts
  • Strong proficiency in developing and updating spreadsheets in excel
  • Ability to effectively tie out year end taxable and gross wages for year end reconciliation
  • Responds to various payroll & benefit annual surveys, report requests and prepares wage reports for outside auditing agencies
  • Create when necessary manual fringe schedules for all craft employees
  • In depth knowledge of annual true up for Prevailing Wage actual vs. projected employer liabilities
  • Assisting with year-end and tax reconciliation, auditing and reporting
  • Create and update all craft/class templates and review all weekly certified payroll submissions for accuracy
  • Upload certified payroll weekly transcripts into LCP Tracker, eMars and Ecomply systems for 70 weekly Prevailing Wage projects
  • Understand and comply with DOL requirements on Federal Prevailing Wage projects
  • Review, correct and resubmit all Prevailing Wage rejections and process restitution when necessary
  • Assists the Director or Payroll & Benefits as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Accountability:

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected
  • RK Mechanical employees and subcontractors are required to implement and maintain all safety and health systems practices including the training requirement of RK Mechanical Orientation


Minimum Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment.
  • Occasionally may need to reach, stoop, or kneel.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.


Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years relevant experience required.
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Certified Payroll / Davis-Bacon / Prevailing Wage payroll required
  • Experience on Viewpoint preferred but not required
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in high volume, fast-paced atmosphere
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and data-entry accuracy required
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel skills
  • Previous Construction industry experience preferred
