Summary:
The Application Coordinator Epic Chargemaster position reports to the Chargemaster Manager. Responsible for loading of all charge procedures for all lines of business as well as troubleshooting accuracy due to discrepancies. This position will ensure timely load of charge procedures. The Application Coordinator will work with the revenue generating department, assigned Epic Team as well as subject matter experts. All lines of business include Hospital, Medical Group, Home Health , Miller and Senior Living. The application coordinators have primary responsibility for design, build, testing, validation and ongoing support of the chargemaster applications. This position is responsible for obtaining and maintaining in-depth knowledge of the software functionality and acquiring knowledge of the revenue cycle workflows to be implemented in Epic.
Experience/Education Requirements:
High School graduate or equivalent, bachelor’s degree preferred
Previous healthcare insurance experience within the last 3 years, preferred
2 years professional or hospital patient accounting experience, preferred
Extensive knowledge of CCI; APC; OCE; CPT, HCPC; ICD; Modifier and Revenue Code relationships; coding certificate preferred
Excellent computer, communication and interpersonal skills required
Independent, critical thinking and accuracy/attention-to-detail skill level needed
Responsibilities:
Obtaining and maintaining Epic certification in chargemaster application
Communicating project status with each other, with department representatives and with higher levels; provide formal status reporting on a periodic basis to supervisory staff as requested
Participating in application design, validation and advanced design sessions within assigned area
Designing, building and validating the application to conform to desired revenue cycle workflows
Populating master tables and system files in accordance with established guidelines; following standards for naming and numbering conventions and security classifications
Testing in a structured manner and documenting testing results
Following established guidelines for system change control
Tracking, updating and resolving issues
Collaborate with Principal Trainers in the design and development of role-based training programs to support the workflows to be implemented
Maintaining system documentation to enable ongoing support of the system
Implementing approved changes based on customer-designed priorities
Troubleshooting problems identified by team members and end-users
Reviewing and testing new builds and releases prior to implementing in the production environment
Identifying potential system enhancements needs
Providing demonstrations of system functionality as necessary
