Riverside Insights is Hiring a Frontend Engineer Near Chicago, IL

The Frontend Engineer’s mission is to develop high-quality and efficient software solutions that deliver value to our school district clients. You will help foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning while ensuring our products are not only technically robust but also aligned with our business goals. Your commitment to continual growth, being aware of industry trends, and finding creative solutions to complex technical challenges while collaborating with the product team will be instrumental in driving our organization’s success.

In this role you will get to 

  • Use your technical skills to write, test, debug, observe, and enhance the Aperture codebase.
  •  Write and review unit tests for our Teacher and Student portals within the frontend code.
  • Continually deliver value for our customers by supporting the team’s SDLC
  •  Support the delivery of regionalized assessments to our customers
  • Support our Spring and Fall releases pass UAT and are released on schedule.
  • Support the team’s velocity increases and matures after each new team change.
  • Lead 1 process or code improvement along our SLDC process to reduce our delivery speed or reduce our risk
  • Communicate effectively with your teammates and coworkers
  • Grow your technical skillset and incorporate innovative solutions
  • Participate and/or lead the creation of a career vision and have manager alignment.
  • Complete spikes and/or tech proposals outlining multiple solutions to a technical problem, defining the pros/cons, and proposing a direction to the team

  • Have a minimum of four years of experience developing software products or a matching level of skill and strengths.
  • Have company technical comprehension and use your technical skills to write, test, debug, observe and enhance the codebase.
  • Proficiency or related experience working within React, Typescript, Playwright, REST APIs, Storybook
  • Understand responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
  • Integration with third-party APIs and services
  • Design eye and able to produce pixel perfect recreations
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies. Has a growth-mindset
  • Takes ownership of mistakes and accidents that they are involved in and learn from those situations
  • Comprehend complex problems
  • Successful stakeholder communication
  • Anticipate and communicate blockers
  • Customer awareness/understanding
  • Ability to work well with others, ability to ask for help and be supported by teammates.

Physical Requirements for this position 

  • Remote 
  • Up to 10% travel for off-site team meetings
