• Assure that food is received, stored, prepared, and served in accordance with sanitation and HACCP guidelines.
• Prepare all food items in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders if required.
• Maintain all appropriate documentation of temperature charts and similar records according to established protocols.
• Assure that all food services areas are maintained in a clean, sanitary and properly arranged manner at all times.
• Attend meetings as assigned.
• Report any accidents and/or incidents to Administrator/designee immediately.
• Performance of other duties as deemed necessary, appropriate and within the scope of training and education including serving food and busing tables.

Position will include some evenings and weekends. Salary will be based on relevant experience.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Knowledge:

• 2 – 3 years experience preparing a variety of menu items preferred.
• 1 year experience as both a cook & baker required.
• Familiar with “cooking terminology”, use of ingredients; able to read recipes, identify and use various small and large pieces of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to complete simple math functions (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.)
• Familiar with portion control techniques and variety of cooking methods (roasting, grilling, braising, poaching, sautéing.)
• Must have good communication skills, be able to read, write and speak English up to at least a 12th grade level, and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to

• Stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Manually lift 30-50 pounds.
• Frequently withstand warm to hot temperatures.
• Use large and small food preparation and service equipment.
