We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our animal patients and supporting our veterinary staff. Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and surgical areas
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
- Administer medications as directed by veterinarians
- Monitor animal patients before, during, and after procedures
- Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery progress
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and procedures
- Provide compassionate care and support to pet owners

-Answering phones and making appointments

- Cleaning kennels and the facility

Skills:
- Proficient in dog handling techniques, including proper restraint methods
- Knowledge of kennel procedures for boarding and caring for animals
- Understanding of laboratory procedures and equipment used in a veterinary setting
- Knowledge of animal physiology and common medical conditions
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and medical abbreviations
- Ability to handle animals with patience, compassion, and confidence
- Basic understanding of dog training principles

- Willingness to learn

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal-related field preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
