Riggins Company located in Hampton, VA, is looking for a full-time 2nd Working Production Supervisor to join our growing and exciting company.

We are a custom steel fabricator specializing in the engineering, design and fabrication of large steel fabrications, heat exchangers, pressure vessels and tanks as well major structural projects.

Our customers are Shipyards, Navy, Government, Commercial as well as in the Petrochemical Industry. The successful candidate will need to be responsible, self-starter and motivated to excel.

The working 2nd Shift Production Supervisor that will manage the manufacturing floor by meeting or exceeding production throughput goals.

Lead and support 2nd shift production team by building an effective relationship with team members through communication and leadership.

Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in a marine or manufacturing environment. Experience in structural drawing interpretation is preferred plus 4 years demonstrated experience in leading people.

A candidate must demonstrate a command presence as well as empathy while driving execution.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Knowledge of shipbuilding, fabrication construction, welding, and manufacturing standards.
• Stay aligned with the Senior Manufacturing Mgr. to meet all goals set forth to support the throughputs goals for the company.
• Superior communication and leadership skills.
• Commitment to 100% accurate, on-time delivery and safety.
• Set measurable daily goals for each production team.
• State result needed, set guidelines, boundaries, limitations, and dates based on production schedule.
• Ability to plan and layout work for the yard.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.
• Ability to write routine reports, routine correspondence, and track information.
• Ability to effectively speak and interact with employees.
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative
• Oversees and supervises all manufacturing activities within the 2nd Shift Team.
• Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations, and industry codes.

Education and / or Experience

HS Diploma with additional education such as leadership courses, associate degree or bachelor’s degree. Has held a supervisory role supervising at least 10 employees for a minimum of 5 years.
